ABOUT WHEELS FOR FOREST:
The Wheels For Forest Fundraiser is a 5k Run/Walk to raise money to purchase a new or gently used wheelchair accessible van for Forest Walton. Forest is a resident of Harrisburg, NC who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Due to this disease he is no longer able to walk.
His mother, Sherri Gotcher must take him everywhere in a wheelchair accessible van. Their current van is worn out and falling apart.
WE RUN BECAUSE HE CAN'T.
ABOUT FOREST:
Forest is a 15 year old red-haired, hazel-eyed young man who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at birth. He was able to walk, run, and play until he was about 12 years old and became wheelchair bound. Forest loves science, drawing and learning how to take things apart. He would like to go into engineering or architecture when he is older, or perhaps build tanks and planes for the Armed Forces. For now, Forest enjoys building with his Legos, playing his Xbox, spending time with family and going to the movies.
